I cannot explain how much fun New Year's Eve at Bar Standard and Milk Bar was this year. We had the honor of printing 100 5-color posters for cEvin Key. Our first work with cEvin Key was a 3 color print for his show at Fusion Factory on 4/20/2013. This show was even better. Key, from Subconscious Communications and Skinny Puppy, performed much of his set collaboratively with Djoto. Our first Djoto show, seen in the pouring rain at the R.A.V.E. (Radical Audio Visual Exhibition) in Denver's City Park, inspired some of the imagery in this poster. Before Djoto and Key's heavy-hitting performance, we enjoyed a DJ set from Not Breathing that contrasted heavily with the Noise set we enjoyed at Denver Noise Fest last April. VJ Dizy Pixl also projected a crisp and colorful performance to contrast her noisy greyscale visuals from last year's Noise Fest. Before that, we enjoyed the quality stylings that we've come to expect from local favorite, DJ Mudwulf. He was responsible for booking cEvin Key for this show and curating the other performers. We are very grateful to him for inviting us to print the official poster for this show. We are also very thankful of the lovely staff and owner at Bar Standard and their companion basement club, Milk. After distributing posters to the performers, club staff and patrons, we were able to hold onto a few of the show prints, which are available on our PRINTS page. |

So when Hepster Pat approached us about printing a poster for Electrotrash 2, we had to say yes. When he went on to elaborate that this show was organized by his own label Welt Muzik and Blackcell's label, Backwards Records, we said Hell Yes. He and Pat Urn from Syphilis Sauna would be performing between sets as the Pat Pat soundsystem, that the whole show would take place at a new oldskool arcade/venue called Hyperspace and would cost $5 cover. There was no question that Porn Syrup would be making the poster. We kept it to ourselves that it would be printed on Petallics Black Glitter-paper, until the event. If you were there, you are part of the incredible avant garde electro scene budding here in Denver. If you weren't, consider this blog your home-listening list. When you're done sampling the mad talents from Electrotrash 2013, check out the following monsters who performed at Elecrotrash 2014...

![]() The art of local psychedelic pop artists, High Fructose Porn Syrup, hangs on the walls for the opening month of the new DADA Art Bar in Denver's Rhino Arts District. The show, titled Infinite Illusions, incorporates op-art techniques to cause lateral inhibition and illusions of motion. Glow-in-the-dark screen prints and paintings change with UV lighting, and massive tapestries react with Chromavision 3-D Glasses. High Fructose Porn Syrup creates intricately detailed and uniquely crafted artwork. The pictures inside of pictures and the dynamic changes in their art hint at the infinite nature of self, encouraging a widening of the identity to include environment. "A human life is like a drop of water into an ocean, we identify with the droplet disturbing the surface of the universe for a brief moment, but our true identities are the ripple we leave behind." Local Arts and Culture newspaper, Westword, Gave us a blog-post! READ IT FER YERSELF!![]() We were honored to return to Sidewinder this month for Literati Record's lineup of this month's NOISE FLOOR. We remixed some of the blank Russolo prints we had from January, and printed a super limited edition of 25 posters for this show. It is always fun to be blasted by experimental noise. While the mellow Echo Beds was our favorite palatable band, YVETTE from the East Coast ended the show on an intense high note, filling the night with fuzz, grunge and aggressive fortissimo drums. Thanks again to Curta and Sidewinder for inviting us out. ![]() We are grateful to to Westword and the astounding crowd that came out to support Denver Art at this year's Artopia. Annually this event spans multiple venues and mixes Nightclub culture with fine art, burlesque, local music, the Roller Dolls were even there. We also ran into friends Frank Kwiatkowski, the Birdseed Collective, and Lotus Drops. We debuted the Scorpio poster which was well received, and met a lot of beautiful people. Thank you City Hall and staff, artists, patrons, and organizers. Artopia is one of our year's favorite events. ![]() Thank you to everyone who made it out to Milk last night for goth night. We cranked though Fifty of these two color prints as Mudwulf mixed music and music videos in synch from 9 till 2 nonstop. Mudwulf is one of our favorite DJs and we were stoked to get to spend the night seeing what he's been conjuring up. Check out Milk's Facebook page for some awesome photos of the beautiful people of the evening, ourselves included (thanks to Valerie Photogoddess). ![]() We were proud to come out to Sidewinder Tavern to print a poster live for the first of many NOISE FLOOR experimental electronic shows. It was really validating to see the awesome community that came out to support weird music and art. There was amazing live manipulated footage projected onto the stage and on sculptures. The music was diverse and bizarre, just like we like it. thanks Sidewinder! Thanks Church Fire, Cop Circles, Milk Blossoms, Brotherhood of the Machines and Curta. We look forward to many more monthly NOISE FLOORs. |
